Beattie Mine - had some gold production.

Cansler Mine - had some gold production. Large nuggets have been found in this area.

Cannon mine - produced some gold.

Derr Mine - had some gold production.

Duffie Mine - was a lode gold mine.

Farrar Mine - had some gold production.

High Shoals Mine - was a gold producer.

Kings Mountain Mine - is located about 2 miles south of the town of Kings Mountain, near the Gaston-Cleveland County line. The lode deposit at Kings Mountain was worked intermittently between 1834 and 1895.

Long Creek Mine - was a lode gold mine.

McLean (Rumfeldt) Mine - is located 16 miles southwest of Charlotte.

Puett Mine - is located 18 miles southwest of Charlotte and was a lode gold mine.

Rhodes Mine - is located 18 miles southwest of Charlotte and was a lode gold mine.

Rumfeldt Mine - is located 15 miles southwest of Charlotte.

Sloan Mine - was a gold producer.

Smith Mine - was a gold producer.

A. D. Sufford Mine - large nuggets have been found at this site.

Wells Mine - was a gold producer.

SUGGESTED PROSPECTING AREAS:

Catawba River - contains placer gold.

Club's Mountain - in area stream gravels, placer gold is known to exist.

Crowders Mountain - area has had many productive placers operations.
